Getting a new home or apartment can be a daunting task. It is often very difficult to imaging the potential of an empty room and even harder to know what to do with it. Keep in mind that the right interior design strategy can make any room look like magic.
Here are some tips to help you find your way:
- Keep in mind that rooms look smaller when they are empty. You might not be able to picture fitting in a bed and furniture in a room but it takes less space than you would think.
- Try to color coordinate everything you get. You can use a color wheel to find different varieties within a spectrum. For instance, earth tones all go together (brown, dark green, black and grey etc.). It can be a few different shades that work well together.
- Add curtains! It makes a huge difference in the dynamic of a room. Longer curtains (past the window seal, to the floor) make a room look bigger than it is. Play around with different rods and tie-backs.
Lastly, don’t forget to add a personal touch. Light some candles! Put on your favorite movie! Do whatever it is that will make the place seem like home. After all, that is the most important thing.
